Mr. Chen

Mr. Chen, an opera singer (Baritone), started to study Classical Singing (Bel Canto) at the age of 15 years old. Due to his excellent singing technique and musical expression, he was accepted by Xiamen University and finished his Bachelor degree in 2018. During his bachelor degree study, he participate in lots of performance through out China, which includes The performance of N0.9 symphony in D minor, op.125 by Beethoven in the concert collaboratively held by University of Trier (Germany) and Xiamen University (China) in 2016, The performance of the Ceremony of the second edition of the UNESCO Prize of Girl’s and Women’s Education in Xiamen University, etc.


Mr.Chen was admitted by several schools in 2018 includes Manhattan Conservatory of Music, Peabody Institute of the John Hopkins University, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, etc. In the same year, he decided to start his master degree study at The San Francisco Conservatory of Music. During the study in San Francisco Conservatory of Music, he studied with Mrs. Cathy Cook and participated in several opera performance which includes Les Mamelles de Tirésias (2018), Ariadne auf Naxos (2019), Le Nozze di Figaro (2019), “The Night of Opera Scenes and Arias” (2019), the scenes of: Papageno, Plunkett, Don Giovanni, etc.


In 2020, Mr. Chen is continuing his DMA studies at University of Minnesota, Twin cities under the tutelage of Mr. John De Haan. In the same year, he participated in the fall opera, L'incoronazione di Poppea, played Ottone.
