Yifei Xu is a versatile composer, performer, and music educator. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music
Pedagogy from Yangzhou University and a Master’s degree in Music Scoring and Composition from the Academy of Art University. He further honed his compositional skills under the mentorship of Jason Martineau at the Manhattan School of Music.
Yifei is the founder of Musevia Collective, a creative platform dedicated to original music, collaboration, and education. As a composer and producer, he has collaborated with renowned ensembles and musicians including the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Grammy-nominated drummer Dennis Pedersen, bassist Dennis Pedersen, and guitarist Qingyue Shen. His original works span multiple genres, with popular releases such as “Diary of Lost Dream” and “Champagne Rose” gaining recognition in international music competitions, including the Royale Music Competition, the London Young Musician Competition, and the World Master Open Music Competition.
As an educator with over 10 years of teaching experience, Yifei teaches piano, guitar, guzheng, ukulele, and drum set. He currently serves as a music teacher at a Montessori school and a faculty member in Palo Alto, and also works as the pianist for the Shi Choir in San Jose. His students have achieved top-level certifications in Chinese and international music exams, and many have won prizes in major competitions. He is also an active curriculum developer and has contributed to piano teaching materials.
