Yiqiao Chen

Yiqiao Chen is currently a DMA candidate at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music
under studio of Grammy- Award winning clarinetist Prof. Pavel Vinnitsky.
He completed his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music with two-time Gramm- Award winning
clarinetist Prof. Richard Stoltzman and the Principal Clarinetist of Boston Symphony Mr.William R.
Hudgins at New England Conservatory. Yiqiao Chen studied with a first prize winner of Carl Nielsen
Competition Prof. Alexander Fiterstein at Interlochen Arts Academy during high school. He also
studied with formal principal clarinetist of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Prof. Rende Zheng, at the
Music Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music during middle school.
Yiqiao Chen was the principal clarinetist of the Music Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai
Conservatory of Music Philharmonia from 2009 ~ 2011, he performed several times at Shanghai
Concert Hall, and performed for the celebration of Chinesisch-deutsche Beziehungen in He Luting
Concert Hall, Shanghai in 2009.
Yiqiao Chen was the principal clarinetist of Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra during the tour of the
Interlochen Arts Academy 50 th anniversary. During this tour, Yiqiao Chen performed at Corson
Auditorium at Michigan, DeVos Hall at Grand rapids, Harris Theater at Chicago, and Max M. Fisher
Music Center at Detroit with clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein, violinist Jorja Fleezanis, he also
performed at Constitution Hall at D.C, and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln center with clarinetist David
Shiffrin and violinist Ida Kavafian in 2012
Yiqiao Chen also performed as principal clarinetist of New England Conservatory Philharmonia at
Jordan Hall, Boston, Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre, Boston during his study at New England
Conservatory.
