Soprano Sidi Jiang studied piano from she was 4 years old. She went to England at age of 13 and studied at Abbots Bromley School for Girls in Staffordshire. She started learning to sing with a Scottish soprano from age of 14. She later went to Central Saint Martin of the University of Arts in London. After 6 years of study experience in England, she deiced to choose music as her career, so she left London and studied voice performance at Tianjin Conservatory of Music in 2012 under Italian coach Alfonso Amato and professor Pingli Yu. She went to United States and focused on opera performance at Longy school of music Bard college from 2016 to 2018. Later in 2019, She went to the University of Minnesota with a full scholarship. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral of Music Arts degree in Voice Performance at The University of Minnesota under Professor Jane Giering-De Hann.
She has performed many major roles in operas including Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Monica from The Median, Giulietta from Les contes d’Hoffmann, and partial Roles as Countess from Le Nozze Di Figaro, Pamina from Die Zauberflöte, Donna Anna from Don Giovanni, Eduridice from Orfeo ed Eduridice, Vitellia from La Clemenza di Tito, Marie from La Fille du Regiman. Ms Jiang also worked with different conductors including Mark Rusell Smith, Sean Wang, and Muhai Tang. She has awarded the 2nd Annual Sino-Ocean Music Competition, Third Prize in 2014, in the 6th Annual National “Opera Concorso” Competition she got Excellence Award in Beijing, and in 2018 she had the second prize in the Hong Kong Music competition.
She sings in different languages including Italian, German, French, Chinese, and English. she has been teaching voice and piano lessons both in China and the United States, In her teaching, she loves to focus on how to express singers emotions with songs, acting, languages, and healthy singing techniques.
Ms. Jiang is also interested in musical theater and performed the scene of Rosabella from The Most Happy Fella at Longy school of music.
Ms. Jiang also has more than 2 years of experience on the study in professional theater acting, which helped her sing and act on stage and create characters in operas.
