Minji is a South Korean cellist with a very high level of technique and natural musicality. She started to play the cello at 9 years old. She was accepted by Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School, the most prestigious music school in South Korea. When she was in Korea, she joined many competitions and music festivals. For example, she got first prize in the Baroque Competition and the Artemis Chamber music competition and she participated in the Kronberg Cello Festival. She also had the experience of performing with an orchestra in Korea.
Minji was accepted by the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for her Bachelor's degree and studied with Jennifer Culp. During their years of performing cello, she had some chances to take master classes with many famous cellists such as Arto Noras, Peter Bruns, Steven Isserlis, and Richard Aaron.
As a teacher, she has 4 years of teaching experience, 3 years in Korea, and 1 year in San Francisco. Her students are very broad in age from 7 years old to 60 years old and she also teaches not only the professional students but also the beginners very meticulously and kindly. She also helps her students prepare for auditions and competitions very well.
